this song is about a boy in love with his best friend. but she's a whore... the only way he ever gets to express his feelings is when she's lonely ("i'm just a notch in your bed post") "sleeping for the wrong team" points towards a song that was written for this album, but actually was put on their next album instead, a song about the same best friends ("ex-friends, best friends til the end, better off as lovers and not the other way around")
"i'm wishing to be the friction in your jeans/isn't it messed up how i'm just dying to be him" he wants to be everything she's looking for, not just a toy.
"we're going down, down in an earlier round/and sugar we're going down swinging" refers to their relationship. it's wasn't good to begin with, and now it's getting messed up.
"i'll be your number one with a bullet/a loaded gun complex/cock it and pull it" he realizes she's so egotistical and won't ever change. so the only way he could ever get with her is to be that way too.
